Research and Conference Assistant, Entrepreneurship

The subject of Entrepreneurship at Turku School of Economics, University of Turku, is inviting applications for a fixed-term position as a Research and Conference Assistant. The employment will begin on 15 June 2026 and continue until 31 December 2026 (or as agreed). The position is part-time (50–70%).

Entrepreneurship is a core subject and a strength area of Turku School of Economics. The Entrepreneurship research group is internationally active (see further information: Entrepreneurship | University of Turku) There are several entrepreneurship-related research projects currently ongoing or being prepared within the subject area. In addition, the Secretariat of the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ECSB; www.ecsb.org) operates within the subject. The unit is responsible for entrepreneurship studies at Turku School of Economics and also offers entrepreneurship studies to students from other faculties at the University of Turku.

Job description

The duties of the Research and Conference Assistant include support tasks in the unit’s research projects as well as tasks supporting teaching. A key responsibility is assisting the ECSB Secretariat in the organization of conferences arranged by the ECSB. The tasks include, among others: Updating conference websites, producing other communication materials, communicating with participants, managing registrations and participant data and supporting the other activities of the ECSB. The position includes other duties assigned by the subject area, such as, supporting student marketing, onboarding of international students and subject-level communications, assisting in research projects and preparing research funding applications, and assisting with teaching-related tasks.

Requirements / Qualifications / You should have

Successful performance in the position requires: Good written and spoken English language skills, proficiency in MS Office applications, ability to work accurately in detail-oriented tasks, initiative and independence and good interaction and communication skills. Finnish language skills are considered an asset. Previous experience of working in an international environment is an advantage, as is interest in research work, conference organization, and/or university teaching.

The call is targeted at degree students of the University of Turku. The selected Research and Conference Assistant should be a Master-level student in the final stage of studies (in business administration or a comparable field).

Salary and trial period

The salary is determined in accordance with the university salary system for teaching and research personnel. The official job title is Research Assistant. The salary for a full-time (100 %) Research Assistant at the graduation stage is 2406,39 euros per month.

The position has a trial period of three months.
