Research Coordinator
The Faculty of Mathematics and Science is currently seeking to recruit staff for the position of Research Coordinator for a fixed-term of 2 May 2025 to 31 August 2026. The basis for the fixed-term employment is substitution.
The Faculty of Mathematics and Science conducts internationally acclaimed research and provides top-level teaching in all the areas of mathematics and science it represents. In this faculty, new ideas are developed and shared with the community and experts building the future in both Finland and abroad are educated. The faculty has defined as its core research areas evolution research, mathematical analysis, multidisciplinary nanoscience, resource wisdom, and subatomic physics.
As a research coordinator you will have a versatile work description:
- You will assist in funding applications for international research networks projects and help coordinate them
- You will coordinate and develop international and national collaboration networks
- You will participate in communicating about the research
- You will participate in planning and realizing the research strategy of the Faculty
You will work in close contact with the vice dean responsible for research, with the experts in University’s Research and Innovation Services as well as the Faculty’s Business Service Managers.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a person with
- A doctoral degree in mathematics or natural sciences
- Good organizing and coordinating skills
- Self-driven and active approach to solve problems
- Experience from research collaborations and/or independent research after the doctoral degree
- Good communication skills both in English and in Finnish
- Good IT skills related to visualization and communications
Proficiency in the Finnish language is required from the applicant and a good command of English language is regarded as an advantage.
A trial period of six months will be used when the position is filled.

The monthly salary range will be between 3400 and 4100 EUR (gross income), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
