The Role

We are seeking a skilled Bioinformatician to enhance our R&D capabilities. The Bioinformatician will be part of the Bioinformatics team in R&D working closely with scientists from the Molecular Biology team.

The primary tasks of this role would be:

  • `Omics´ data analysis and experiment design to develop and optimize our company’s proprietary production platforms (Aspergillus, Bacillus and Trichoderma)
  • Support product registration by preparing whole genome sequencing based analyses for Aspergillus, Bacillus and Trichoderma product registration
  • Implement workflows and pipelines to automate processing and analysis of R&D data (‘omics and other)
  • Give computational biology support in product development projects by working together with the cross-functional project teams and the key internal stakeholders

About You

  • Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, or in adjacent sciences (e.g. Computational Biology, Genetics, Data Science, Molecular Biology), or equivalent experience with a natural science background
  • Experience in genomics, transcriptomics and/or data analysis in a Linux environment with advanced Bio-IT tools.
  • Demonstrable skills in R or Python
  • A reliable team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • You are capable of innovative thinking and proactive problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Bonus points:
  • Familiarity with enzyme technology, fungal and/or bacterial genomics, or proteomics 
  • Experience working with Nextflow (including writing and maintaining workflows), version control (e.g. git), or cloud infrastructure (Azure). 
  • Speak German
  • Have a sense of humour
  • Have a passion for learning
