We are now looking for Research Scientist to join our Structural Integrity team!
As a Research Scientist, you will have a role both in carrying out customer-related case studies and in developing, validating and taking into use computational methods and tools within different types of research and development projects. You will have an opportunity to conduct versatile work in EU, national and commercial projects regarding research in computational structural integrity studies. The job will be located in Kemistintie 3, Espoo.
Our team, Structural Integrity works mainly on numerical studies mainly related to structural integrity of Nuclear Power Plants. We are developing and validating computational methods and tools within research projects and applying the methods for real-world applications in different types of contract works in order to solve problems and find answers to structural integrity-related questions. These tools and methods are applicable also in other industries, thus we are e.g. solving long-term operation-related questions also in conventional power plans.

Your responsibilities as Research Scientist:
- Your main responsibilities will be in demanding computational structural integrity studies on applications mentioned above
- Participation in research projects related to structural integrity of nuclear power plant metallic components
- Development and validation of computational methods and tools
- Project management
Who we are looking for:
- Strong background (MSc or PhD degree) in solid mechanics, structural mechanics and/or strength of materials
- Competence in strength assessments of metallic components
- Experience with finite element analyses and software for structural analyses (Abaqus preferred)
- Competence in analytical and numerical fracture mechanics
