We are now looking for Research scientist (fixed-term, 12 months) to join our Flexible sensors and devices team in Espoo

Our team, Flexible sensors and devices works on eco-friendly printed and hybrid sensors and electronics, sustainable energy storage, next generation wearable and high-resolution printing solutions.

• Printed Intelligence at VTT PrintoCent pilot factory

You will work in our projects aiming at development of energy storage devices based on sustainable materials. You will be contributing to our project portfolio in the field of sustainable batteries and supercapacitors.

As a research scientist you will: 

• participate in project planning, management and proposal writing
• design, perform and supervise experiments and experimental protocols targeting to the development and characterization of batteries and/ or supercapacitors
• analyse the experimental results
• report and disseminate project outcome
• collaborate with other VTT teams on materials development for sustainable batteries and supercapacitors

Who we are looking for:

• research scientist with
• MSc or PhD degree in physical chemistry, electrochemistry, materials science or energy conversion
• interest in sustainable, next generation energy generation and storage
• previous experience in performing, planning and supervising experimental work in the field of supercapacitors and/or batteries
• prior experience with electrochemical analysis of batteries, such as charge-discharge cycling, and laboratory scale battery assembly
• excellent written and spoken English language skills
