We are looking for a Research or Senior Research Technician in electronics assembly and manufacturing in Oulu

You would be working in the assembly processes in close collaboration with the other cleanroom process technicians and engineers and with researchers developing our key technologies. Our Photonics and RF Integration team does research and development of advanced micromodules for various applications including communications, sensing, medical, defense and space. Our versatile manufacturing, assembly and packaging processes are in VTT’s cleanroom facility in Oulu. We participate in ambitious international research activities in the fields of millimetre-wave devices, microsystems and photonics solutions, and we serve our customer companies worldwide by developing and manufacturing photonics and microwave devices. We now wish to strengthen our capabilities in bonding processes and possibly in other assembly and packaging processes.

Your responsibilities as a technician:

  • Various bonding and other assembly work in the cleanroom
  • Planning, development and optimization of the processes, together with your colleagues
  • Measurements of the assembly results
  • Improvement of quality and yield of the assembly processes
  • Communicating, documenting and problem solving

Who are we looking for?

  • Strong experience in die bonding, wire bonding and flip-chip bonding
  • Expertise in various assembly and packaging processes, such as, soldering, glueing, sealing, encapsulation, dicing, etc. and related fabrication, measurement and imaging techniques
  • Expertise in R&D and cleanroom processes
