We are looking for an ambitious and results-oriented researcher with a strong background in power electronics design to join our Integrated Circuits team in Espoo. As a Research/Senior Scientist, you will have a key role in the development of next generation of high-efficiency power electronics circuits for industrial applications. You identify and solve problems independently and creatively while working closely and flexibly with a team of experts. Ideally, you could conduct the design from the concept to implementation and verification through measurements. Depending on your background and experience, it is possible to expand the responsibilities below.

Your responsibilities as a Research/Senior Scientist:

• Design of next-generation circuits for power electronics
• Plan and conduct characterization of the fabricated circuits
• Active contribution to broadening and maintaining project portfolio (planning, preparation, and management)
• Communication and collaboration with other experts at VTT as well as with external partners.

We are looking for a person with:

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in electronics 
• Hands-on experience in design of power electronics including PCBs and gate drivers
• Preferably experience in using GaN/SiC devices
• Experience with tools for FEM and EMC simulations
• Skills in thermal management
• Awareness of modern packaging methods 
• Demonstrable experience in project planning, acquisition, and management
• Excellent communication skills in English.
