Safari Guide, Lapland Safaris
Lapland Staff is looking for Safari Guides for various locations of Lapland Safaris for the winter season 2025–2026. We are looking for Safari Guides to work in Luosto, Levi, Rovaniemi, Saariselkä and Ylläs.
As a safari guide, you get to introduce our international guests to the magnificent nature of Finnish Lapland and guide them through adventure activities. You may act as a guide, for example, on a snowshoe safari at the top of a fell, take the guests on a visit to a reindeer farm or a husky kennel, or snowmobile into the snowy forest to see the Northern Lights. In some of our destinations a part of safari guide’s job is to also guide various bus tours!
Your work tools can be snowmobiles, ice fishing gear, e-fatbikes, skis and snowshoes. As a guide, your workdays consist of preparing for the safari programs, meeting the guests before the safaris, as well as taking care of the clothing of your guests. You will help them dress up properly before each safari and after the activity you will take care of the clothes that you provided such as overalls, socks, boots and gloves. One of the most essential parts of the job is to help dress our guests with winter clothes, and all our safari guides work as part of our equipment team. After the safaris, cleaning and maintaining the equipment used on safaris is an important part of a safari guide’s daily routine as well.
Whatever you do, every day you get to see the excitement on your guests’ faces as they prepare for new and unique experiences!
To be a great guide, we expect you to be accustomed to being outdoors regardless of the weather and to maintain a positive attitude even on long and busy days. Your workdays are rarely the same, and a working day can consist of one or several different tasks, and a lot of work is also done in the evening. Changes to your daily tasks may come with short notice.
In addition to outdoor work, variation to your days comes from indoor clothing maintenance work. Work tasks and guest groups vary a little between destinations. The guides we are looking for are versatile and multitalented, with an open attitude towards different work tasks.
On your days off you can get to know the amazing arctic nature, do multiple winter activities, and spend time with like-minded people. Many of our employees think that the best part of the job are the great colleagues, from all over the world. The high season is quite intensive, so many things happen in a short period of time. It's also great that your office is in the most beautiful scenery of northern Finland!
In all our destinations, knowledge of French language in particular, is considered an advantage. We train our employees in first aid skills, but we value previously acquired first aid skills as well. At least a class B driver's license is an essential requirement for the job. BE driver's license and experience of driving a large, 9-seater vehicle in snowy conditions are considered advantageous, as well as knowledge of the area.
