Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting

What you will be doing:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our finance team in a dual role focusing on SEC reporting and technical accounting. Reporting to the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting, this role will be responsible for assisting with the interpretation and application of accounting standards, as well as supporting the preparation and filing of SEC reports. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, SEC reporting requirements, and excellent analytical skills to play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting processes within the organization.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Assist in the interpretation and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to ensure proper accounting treatment across a diverse range of transactions and topics.
- Support the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual reports on Form 6-K and Form 20-F, respectively, in compliance with SEC regulations and IFRS.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, investor relations, treasury and external auditors, to gather relevant information and ensure accurate and timely completion of SEC filings.
- Stay informed regarding changes in accounting standards, pronouncements, and SEC reporting requirements to assist in assessing the impact thereof and implementing the changes.
- Prepare and review financial statements and footnotes for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to technical accounting and SEC reporting processes.
- Maintain and execute internal controls over financial reporting in compliance with SOX requirements, including remediation of control deficiencies.
- Aid in responding to inquiries from regulators, investors, and other external stakeholders regarding the company's financial disclosures.
- In collaboration with the Senior Manager, provide guidance to internal stakeholders on a range of accounting topics.
- Perform certain monthly reviews, such as Group Accounting reviews of new lease agreements.
- Support the coordination of external audit requests. Provide support to other members of the fi-nance team on ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
- Extensive experience (typically 3+ years) in technical accounting, SEC reporting, and financial analysis, preferably in public accounting or a publicly traded company.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, SEC regulations, and SOX requirements. IFRS experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to research and interpret complex accounting issues and provide practical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and project management skills with the ability to confidently manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally and with diverse global teams.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $95,000 - $115,000 per year at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range reflects the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program
