As a (Senior) Data Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and scaling Amer Sports’ enterprise data platform. You will connect and harmonise multiple datasources building the data infrastructure that enables flexible, trusted and privacy-compliant reporting across Amer Sports’ global HR organisation. This role combines hands-on data engineering with deep responsibility for personal data governance, ensuring that insights are delivered securely and in full compliance with GDPR and internal data privacy standards. 

What you will be doing

  • Systems Integration: Design and build data pipelines that ingest HR data from via REST APIs and file-based extracts. 
  • Data Modelling & Harmonisation: Build reusable, cross-system data models on Databricks that consolidate HR data into a single governed layer; implement Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to support flexible downstream reporting. 
  • Privacy & Data Governance:Design and enforce data access controls, role-based authorisation and column-level masking for sensitive personal data; ensure all data pipelines and reporting solutions comply with GDPR, works council agreements and internal privacy policies. 
  • HR Reporting & Analytics: Implement global HR KeyFigures and design data marts to be used flexible in reporting or AI tools 
  • Data Quality & Monitoring: Implement automated data quality checks across ingestion and transformation layers; monitor pipeline health, define quality SLAs for key KPIs and drive sustainable resolution of data issues in close collaboration with system owners. 
  • HR Stakeholder Collaboration: Work directly with HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition and People Analytics teams to translate reporting requirements into scalable data solutions; document data definitions and support business users in understanding and trusting their HR data. 

What you need to succeed

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in data engineering or analytics 
  • Demonstrable experience handling personally identifiable information (PII) in compliance with GDPR or comparable data privacy regulations 
  • Experience connecting and integrating multiple systems via REST APIs, file-based extracts or connector frameworks 
  • Experience working in international, multi-brand or multi-entity environments 
  • Strong SQL skills for data transformation, profiling and ad-hoc analysis; comfortable writing complex queries  
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks (Delta Live Tables, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Databricks SQL) for building scalable data pipelines and marts 
  • Python (PySpark or pandas) for pipeline development, data transformation and automation 
  • Experience implementing row-level security, column masking and role-based access controls for sensitive personal data in cloud data platforms 
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD principles and data quality monitoring frameworks 
  • Experience delivering Data Marts 
  • Preferred certifications (not mandatory): Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate / Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate 
  • Professional proficiency in English. Basic German language skills.
  • Ability to take ownership and strive for excellence in how work is planned, executed, and improved
