We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join us in building the future of Finnish media! The position is based at Sanomatalo in the city center of Helsinki and requires residence and working permit in Finland. We are a multi-cultural team and fluency in Finnish is not required.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will join the Sanoma Tech&Data organization of well over 100 data and software professionals. You will be supporting the ad sales (B2B) business unit in developing digital advertising data products and services using modern cloud technologies. B2B business unit is a dynamic and fast-paced, but also well-coordinated environment that is working at the forefront of the ongoing digital transformation of media.

The must haves

• Data product / data mesh mindset, including understanding the importance of 
  • data governance
  • data transparency
  • data ownership
  • data quality
• At least 3 years of experience developing and maintaining data solutions in cloud, AWS preferred
• Hands on experience with one of the following: Python, Scala, Apache Spark
• Data modeling and warehousing in the Cloud (e.g. Snowflake)
• Some experience in Developing REST APIs in Python and preferably in the Cloud
• At least some experience of working with infrastructure as code (IaC) for example SAM or Cloudformation
• A valid working permit for Finland

The nice to haves

• Experience in productionizing ML models
• Experience in digital advertising / marketing
• Streaming data experience
• CI/CD
• Agile practices, experience with version control (github preferred), staged deployment
• Scrum mastering / project management experience
• Databricks
