Are you an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working close to the business, collaborating across international teams, and taking ownership beyond standard accounting activities?

Join Amer Sports as a (Senior) Financial Accountant and become a key partner in supporting our Austrian and other entities. In this role, you'll work at the intersection of local statutory accounting, Group Finance, compliance, and business operations, helping ensure financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement in a truly international environment.

What you will be doing

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Austrian GAAP (UGB).
• Perform account reconciliations and support period-end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and local statutory requirements.
• Analyze financial data and support variance investigations and reporting activities.
• Assist in maintaining high-quality accounting records and documentation.

Compliance, Audit & Controls

• Support external reporting requirements, including tax reporting, statistical reporting, and transfer pricing documentation.
• Act as a key contact for internal and external audits, statutory audits, and tax audits.
• Support SOX compliance activities and contribute to the continuous development of our Internal Control System (ICS).
• Help strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Group Accounting, Tax, Business Controlling, HR, and our international Finance Shared Service Center.
• Partner with stakeholders across functions to resolve accounting and reporting matters.
• Support international finance projects and global transformation initiatives.
• Contribute to finance process improvements and standardization efforts.

Business Support & Continuous Improvement

• Plan and monitor portfolio cost centers, including variance analysis and follow-up.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
• Gradually take ownership of additional legal entities and business areas.
• Support the implementation of new finance tools, processes, and reporting solutions.

What you need to succeed

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, audit, or a related area.
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Controlling, or a related field.
• Experience working in an international organization or a shared services environment.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end accounting processes and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
• Experience with SAP.
• Excellent written and spoken English and communicative German language skills.
• Knowledge of Austrian accounting regulations (UGB) and IFRS would be an advantage.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate results.
• Ability to work independently while building strong relationships across teams.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous learning and process improvement.
