The role
We are looking for a Senior IoT Platform Engineer (Cloud & Edge) to design, build and evolve the core IoT platform behind Gridle’s energy flexibility solutions.
This is a hands-on senior role with broad scope across cloud, edge and platform architecture. You will work directly on production systems and act as a technical expert in key IoT domains.
Our stack spans everything from low-level device control to cloud data pipelines and web UIs. You will work across the stack, with the flexibility to focus where you deliver the most value.
What you’ll do
- Design and implement mission-critical software (Python, Rust) across AWS cloud and edge devices
- Build and evolve core IoT platform capabilities for connected energy assets
- Design architectures across cloud and edge (AWS IoT Core, Greengrass, device connectivity, remote management)
- Drive end-to-end IoT security across cloud and edge
- Contribute to overall software architecture and technology choices
Your background
Core
- Strong experience in modern software development and product building
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- Experience designing cloud-connected IoT systems (preferably AWS IoT)
- Strong Python experience in mission-critical or data-intensive systems
- Experience with distributed, near real-time systems
- Experience working with edge device software
Strong plus
- Integration with industrial/automation systems
- AWS cost optimization
- Interest in AI-assisted / agentic development workflows
- Time-series databases
- Energy markets or battery technologies
