Senior Lecturer (AI)
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and versatile new colleague to join our Faculty of Technology and Maritime Studies as an AI Lecturer. We offer you a permanent position in an innovative, international and growing team starting from 1.10.2025 or by agreement. The primary workplace will be SAMK Campus Pori.
This position is perfectly suited for an expert who not only has a deep technical foundation in modern artificial intelligence but also boasts a significant amount of industry experience.
As an AI Lecturer, you will:
Crafting and delivering compelling university-level courses in modern AI technologies, programming, data analytics, databases, software development, and data an, addressing a range of proficiency levels from foundational to advanced. Integrating theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience.
Creating courses utilizing both Python and Java programming languages and integrating artificial intelligence solutions to a wide range of applications.
Creating and maintaining virtualized servers.
Instructing classes within both engineering artificial intelligence, business-oriented artificial intelligence programs and Mechatronics engineering.
Contributing to artificial intelligence research projects.
Collaborating and networking with local businesses.
Sharing your, preferably international, startup entrepreneurial experience to enrich the academic environment.
We expect from you:
A master-level degree in data analytics and AI or AI.
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional work experience in modern AI technologies, programming, databases, and software development encompassing both engineering and commercial viewpoints. Proficiency in both theoretical comprehension and practical application.
Teacher’s pedagogical qualifications or readiness to acquire missing pedagogical qualifications within three years from being chosen for the position
Strong knowledge with the Python and Java programming languages and the ability to integrate artificial intelligence solutions to applications.
Strong knowledge on creating and maintaining virtualized servers.
Experience in designing curriculums and teaching university-level courses in engineering, and business-oriented artificial intelligence and mechatronics engineering.
Capability to engage in artificial intelligence research projects.
Strong experience on working in industry expertise.
Experience in the latest artificial intelligence technologies.
Flexibility to teach in both physical and virtual environments.
Good collaboration skills.
Excellent communication skills in English.
We appreciate doctoral degree, experience from national and international RDI activities, solid experience in the practical application of artificial intelligence in business contexts.

General qualification requirements for the tasks are determined based on the Government Decree on Universities of Applied Sciences 1129/2014. The terms of employment and salary are determined in accordance with the General Collective Agreement for the Universities of Applied Sciences by Sivista. Salary range for a lecturer is 3 568 - 5 285 €/month depending on the applicant’s experience, educational background, and qualifications, and 4 568 - 6280 €/month with the availability supplement on the field of technology.
