Senior Lecturer in Environmental Engineering

The School of Smart Solutions is seeking a Senior Lecturer for a fixed-term position starting by mutual agreement and lasting until the end of the year.
The School of Smart Solutions provides teaching related to biotechnology and chemical engineering, laboratory science, energy and environmental technologies, and electrical and automation engineering. The students graduating from the school will play a key role in providing companies with solutions for sustainable development, climate change and green transition.
An expert in the environmental engineering
We value diverse expertise in industrial processes. While your primary background may be in mechanical or chemical engineering, what truly matters is a forward-thinking mindset and a solid understanding of global changes in the field of environmental engineering. In addition to familiarity with industrial processes, we highly appreciate expertise in areas such as production side streams and by-products, waste management, emissions control, and water technologies.
What we are looking for
- A minimum of a Master’s degree (MSc/MEng or PhD/ScD/EngD) in a relevant field of technology is required.
- The position is suitable for both experienced professionals and early-career individuals with a strong commitment to growth.
- We value candidates who demonstrate an eagerness to stay updated on developments in their field, embrace innovation, and implement new ideas in teaching.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse, collaborative environment are essential.
- Most importantly, we seek individuals with enthusiasm and passion for their field of expertise.
Teaching will be conducted in both Finnish and English. While fluency in Finnish is not mandatory, applicants should have the ability to work in Finnish. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the role may include tasks related to professional development and other collaborative projects.
What we offer

- A full-time, fixed-term position starting by agreement and ending on December 31, 2025.
- Salary and terms of employment are determined in accordance with the General Collective Agreement for the Private Teaching Sector. The starting salary for a Senior Lecturer ranges between €4,000 and €6,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
