We’re looking for a Senior Linux Developer to strengthen our R&D Software Engineering team. Our dilution refrigerators are used in cutting-edge technologies like quantum computing and in scientific research. We are known as the market leader with the highest standard for quality and customer service.
You will be a part of our small software development team working on projects further developing the control software of the dilution refrigerator. In our software development projects we are mainly focusing on control and automation processes of the system. The end-users of our software are in most cases research scientists or engineers. The software development work is supported by our R&D team including skilled cryogenic cooling professionals ranging from physicists to technicians, so previous background in or in-depth understanding of cryogenics is not required.
Designing and implementation of Yocto-based software projects for an embedded Linux distro co-operating with project stakeholders to clarify functional and non-functional requirements and transforming them into an implementation plan
Designing of integrations to other software and hardware systems
Applying industry best patterns and practices and standards to project work
Communicating and presenting design decisions to team members and stakeholders
Coaching and guiding the work of other developers and engineers
Taking ownership of software end quality and adherence to project specifications
Participating as a team member to the actual implementation
In addition, your work may include maintaining, improving, and documenting existing software applications and solutions. The successful applicant will also support Bluefors’ program in software and hardware product development. To succeed in this role, you need to have hands-on attitude and a systematic way of working.
Relevant education (for example computer science, or similar)
Proven knowledge and experience of software architectures, best patterns and practices, development methods and tools
Major experience (6+ years) of software development, software architecture design and modelling languages such as UML
Experience in agile work methodologies and excellent teamwork skills
Experience in embedded Linux distributions and the Yocto tool
Python and Java development skills
Ability to solve problems independently
Commitment to high quality is a must
Excellent communication and teamworking skills
Fluency in English, both spoken and written
Fluency in general IT and project tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Windows OS

Electronics knowledge and related hardware skills are an advantage
