Senior Manager/Director, PMO & Strategy
ROLE PURPOSE
The Senior Manager, PMO & Strategy is the operational backbone of Suominen’s transformation agenda. The role serves as the primary internal owner of the Transformation Management Office (TMO) and holds end-to-end delivery accountability for the Full Potential Program (FPP) — spanning governance, initiative tracking, and cross-workstream coordination. In parallel, the role architects Suominen’s long-term portfolio and project management capability through the establishment of a PMO Center of Excellence. Operating at the center of the Strategy & Business Transformation team, this role requires a leader who can drive transformation at pace while building the institutional PM foundation that will sustain the organization.
The role is also responsible for designing Suominen's strategy development framework, defining the methodology, tools, and process by which the company sets long-term strategic direction, evaluates strategic options, and makes major strategic choices — establishing this as a repeatable, institutionalized capability
The role sits within the Strategy & Business Transformation team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Full Potential Program (FPP) Leadership
- Own overall FPP program governance, steering, and delivery accountability from Q3 2026 onward
- Ensuring full internal continuity across all FPP workstreams after external advisor exit

2. Strategy Development Leadership
- Design and facilitate Suominen’s strategy formulation process, including market analysis, strategic options development, and strategic priority-setting in collaboration with the CSTO team, SLT and whole Suominen organisation
- Coordinate and manage the annual strategy refresh cycle — owning the process calendar, stakeholder inputs, templates, and quality of deliverables across functions
- Facilitate catchball and alignment processes to cascade strategic priorities from Suominen level to plants and functions, ensuring cross-organizational coherence
- Synthesize market intelligence, competitive analysis, and internal performance data into strategy fact packs and executive briefings to support strategic decision-making
- Support scenario planning and strategic option analysis, structuring frameworks and synthesizing outputs for executive review
- Track strategy execution progress through the governance calendar, preparing strategy performance dashboards and reporting for SLT reviews, strategy forums, and Board updates

- Develop PM playbooks, templates, and training programs for project owners across the organization
- Champion adoption of PM tools (including Protrack) and ensure consistent usage and data quality across the portfolio
5. Team Leadership & Capability Development
- Set the standard for delivery quality, analytical rigor, and professional communication within the program
- Contribute to team capability development and the evolution of the Transformation Office’s operating model
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Executive Communication
- Serve as the primary operational interface to SteCo on FPP program status and escalations
- Prepare and present high-quality communications for C-suite and Board-level audiences
- Act as a trusted connector between workstream leads, business unit owners, and the Strategy & Transformation leadership team
- Build credibility and influence across organizational levels without always having formal authority over workstream owners
