We are now looking for a Senior Scientist in quantum measurement applications. Bluefors is the leading manufacturer of millikelvin cryogenic systems for quantum computing. You will work within a world-class applied research environment to directly support the commercialization of state-of-the-art quantum computing systems. The successful applicant will support all aspects of components development, quantum applications, hardware, and cryogenic measurement systems. In this role you will deliver industry leading solutions for cryo-electronics in a technical capacity. You will be the system level architect within a program that transitions critical developments to production under time pressure.
We seek candidates with a PhD degree in a quantum physics related field (physics, electrical engineering, computer science) with a focus on quantum technology and more than 5 years of experience in applied quantum science and technology. Applicants should demonstrate expertise in quantum physics applications as evidenced by one or more successful projects, internships, or peer reviewed articles. The role requires deep technical competence in quantum theory, quantum phenomena, applied electromagnetics, sensors, interconnects, and/or classical-quantum interfaces. Lead the development of next-generation solid-state qubit i/o solutions as the system architect.
Develop optimized wiring solutions from first principles: set specifications based on wholistic system metrics for quantum device performance.
Lead the Bluefors Industry PhD program for the quantum applications team
Actively drive strategic external partnerships and collaborations such as EU Flagship: OpenSuperQ+
Publish papers, application notes, and make invention disclosures
Be visible and represent the company at relevant events (for instance, APS March Meeting, or invited talks)
Support internal business functions with quantum applications expertise
PhD or equivalent degree in a quantum physics related field (physics, electrical engineering, computer science)
5 years of professional experience beyond the PhD degree
Passion for both basic and applied research, with deep understanding of requirements and methodologies of quantum physicists and quantum technology thought leaders
Ability to follow a customer-centric approach to develop new solutions for state-of-the-art quantum applications
Strong mathematical and computational physics skills including knowledge of quantum simulation methodologies based on Python and QuTip
