Elisa’s Digital Services is responsible for creating a wide range of services for both corporate and consumer customers. We employ a variety of different talent ranging from designers to developers to product owners and more, all working together to innovate and deliver new services.

We are now looking for two (2) Site Reliability Engineers to support all Elisa software development

About the job

This position gives you unique opportunities to help Elisa on its journey towards the world of clouds, APIs and digitalization. You will join our Site Reliability Engineering team and your job is to empower our software development teams by building tools and automation as services - helping them stay focused on their product vision while you take care of the enabling infrastructure. In addition, we hope you to be capable of providing best practices how to approach and solve operational issues in their own products.

Examples of our services include large-scale Kubernetes automation, Metrics as Service platforms and shared GitHub Actions runner infra, along with the efficient practices to fully benefit from these. We support teams to efficiently utilize Google Cloud in their projects as well develop solutions to common requirements.

If you’re a self-starter with an open, inquisitive approach to your work, you’ll feel right at home here! The users of our services are the most important thing to you, and this is also evident in everything you do. You enjoy co-operating with different experts in the field as a part of our agile development team. Best way to develop some of our tooling is active participation in Open Source upstream projects. We also hope that you can support and educate other developers on the efficient usage of the platforms and tools our team is responsible for.

Your closest stakeholders are based in Helsinki, Pasila. At this team we are following Elisa’s hybrid working policies. 

Skills we are looking for

• Hands-on coding history, preferably with Go
• Experience in modern software development technologies, at least some of the following: TypeScript, React, Terraform, PostgreSQL, Github Actions, OIDC
• Experience in supporting production workloads on top of public clouds (GCP/AWS) or Kubernetes
• Excellent interaction and tech communications skills in Finnish and English

Other skills appreciated

• Implementing metrics with Prometheus and Grafana
• Implementing SLIs and SLOs and how they influence collaboration between business and development
• Experience of working with open-source projects
