As a Lead Developer, you will join the Tech & Data SW Engineering competence focusing on Sanoma Media Finland B2B Digital Growth product domain. We develop digital advertising products and services using modern front and back-end technologies to support our B2B customers. 

We drive and deliver digital advertising across all media brands (e.g. Ilta Sanomat, Helsingin Sanomat, Ruutu, Aamulehti, etc) within Sanoma using our tech stack. We also handle numerous integrations with our advertising partners and different data platforms to meet our business-specific needs. 

We work in cross-functional teams from both business, tech & data competences with the modern, agile and customer-centric operational model to accelerate our digital growth and team collaboration.  

As a Lead Developer, you will be responsible for the development and technical architecture of our Ad Manager product (https://www.admanager.fi/) that is used by our B2B customers such as Advertisers, Advertising Agencies, small and large companies for booking and managing Ad campaigns within Sanoma Network of sites and Apps. The Lead Developer will lead a team of developers responsible for building our tools and products and supporting existing production solutions. 

As a part of the SW Engineering competence you will promote the growth and retention of technical expertise for the needs of multi-skilled teams, and optimize the use of best practices in DevOps teams, ensuring development speed, continuity and quality.​ You have also technical solution architecture expertise in the technologies of the areas of responsibility and ability to transform business description needs/strategy into technology vision and roadmap​.  

As a Lead Developer, you should be able to prioritize well along with the Product Owners, communicate clearly, work across multiple incremental goals. You will work with senior management and architects to define software requirements and take the lead on operational and technical projects. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead and direct the technical development based on B2B vision/Sanoma Media Finland architectural principles and reconciling different technical views. 

• Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. 

• Ensure the quality and performance of the software through code reviews, testing, and continuous integration. 

• Drive the adoption of best practices in coding, testing, and deployment. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. 

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner. 

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge. 

We are looking for a person that has: 

• Good experience in modern front-end development in Typescript/JavaScript (e.g., VueJs) 

• Good experience in C# and .NET 

• Azure Cloud practitioner knowledge, worked with/built APIs, & Databases  

• A strong interest in industry-specific technologies and platforms, and how they integrate within the overall architecture, such as utilizing AI to enhance automation and foster innovation. 

• Willingness to learn new technologies 

• Knowledge in Agile and DevOps methodologies 

• Excellent co-working skills with stakeholders from business, technology, and partners 

• Mindset looking to continuously improve development practices, assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and knowledge sharing within a team 

• Solution-oriented, enthusiastic work attitude and active collaboration skills with different teams 

And maybe this person also has (Nice-to-have): 

• AWS stack knowledge (S3, ETLs, etc.), experience in Python 

• Been exposed to Contentful CMS 

• Media / Advertising industry experience 

• A basic level of Finnish skills would be  certainly beneficial, although not mandatory.
