Dear open source maintainers, community managers, and technical writers,
Thanks for your interest in applying for the Sovereign Tech Fellowship program. This is the application form for the employment option, which is applicable to maintainers, community managers, or technical writers applying for a German employment contract with 20 to 40 weekly working hours. We also offer a freelance option, for which we are accepting applications through a separate form. Please make sure to only apply for one option.
Upon employment, the selected fellow will become a regular member of the Sovereign Tech Agency team for a period of 24 months.
In addition to all main activities of an open source maintainer, community manager, or technical writer, a Sovereign Tech Fellow employed at the Sovereign Tech Agency will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Follow all internal processes of the Sovereign Tech Agency by using relevant (remote) work tools.
- Take an active role in team meetings, retros and retreats, and provide constructive feedback.
- Active contribution to communication efforts towards their own community and communication from the Sovereign Tech Agency regarding the Fellowship program.
- Ideally (depending on capacity and personal preference): Contribution to the improvement and development of the Sovereign Tech Agency programs, especially when those programs interface with the Open Source community.
- Specific contribution to the (external) evaluation of the Sovereign Tech Fellowship program.
- Participate in monthly 1:1s with their manager.
