We are now looking for a Learning & Development Specialist/Senior Specialist to join our team for a fixed-term parental leave substitution.
In the Learning & Development team, we believe continuous learning is key to VTT’s success and a strong source of motivation for VTTers. We are also responsible for onboarding, goal and development dialogues, and engagement survey processes.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organising, implementing and improving our manager, project manager and language trainings, in close collaboration with external partners and internal stakeholders. You’ll also contribute to VTT’s upcoming HCM system implementation, which includes L&D elements. As a member of our team, you help shape VTTers’ learning journeys and promote a culture of continuous learning through a variety of development initiatives.
As a Learning & Development Specialist, you will:
- Be responsible and proactively drive the planning, organising and implementing of our manager, project manager and language training offerings in collaboration with external training partners
- Coordinate practical aspects of trainings, including scheduling, enrolments, venue or online arrangements, and communication with trainers and participants. You’ll also meet trainers and participant at the start of training events and ensure smooth delivery throughout
- Participate in delivering and facilitating other impactful trainings, modules and workshops e.g. in onboarding – both in-person, hybrid, and online formats
- Collect and analyse feedback and participation data to support continuous improvement
- Coordinate the activities on our eLearning platform
- Communicate about our L&D offering through various channels and support VTTers with learning-related questions
- Collaborate actively with service providers and colleagues across VTT.
You might be the person we are looking for, if you:
- Have at least 2 years of extensive experience in the practical implementation of various training programs
- Have a solid understanding of leadership and management practices in an expert organisation
- Understand how people learn and how learning can be embedded into everyday life in the organisation
- Are digitally savvy and quickly learn new tools
- Hold a relevant higher education degree (e.g. master’s degree or a degree from a university of applied sciences)
- Have excellent written and spoken communication skills in both Finnish and English, as we provide services to our employees in both languages.
We also value:
- Experience in using and/or building eLearning tools and learning management systems
- Facilitation skills
- Experience in an internal L&D role and working with external partners.
