We are now looking for a

STORE DESIGNER

to join our Brand & Offering unit, where we work on daily basis towards making Stockmann number one source of inspiration in a groundbreaking customer experience. In this role you will contribute by creating an inspirational customer centric and commercial store environment and space allocation solutions. You will lead the planning and execution of store design projects and translate customer insights into impactful in-store experiences.

This is a permanent position and you will be located at the Head Office in Helsinki Flagship Store.

Where is your expertise needed?

As a Store Designer you will have responsibility for planning renewal and change projects of our department stores. You get to work cross-functionally to gather data and insights that can be turned to customer centric communication and activities.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Leading the new milieu concept creation in collaboration with our product categories, merchant units and external partners
• Managing customer centric store concept development
• Creating and maintaining commercial floor plans and design guidelines
• Improving sustainability through eco conscious design and materials in support of Stockmann’s ESG objectives.

Part of your role is to produce necessary design materials for approval and implementation phases. If necessary, you place project-related orders and control the implementation in the store floor with Project Manager. You participate in the critical rounds of projects and the implementation of the necessary changes in your area of responsibility.

What are we looking for?

To be able to succeed in this role you have relevant educational background from design and at least 5 years of experience of interior and store design. With that experience you have strong understanding of retail business, department stores and brand concepts that are needed in this position.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, graphic and architectural design software
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong negotiation and relationship building skills

You communicate fluently in Finnish and in English (written and spoken) and you have strong communication skills to be able to work with various stakeholders internally and externally.  You understand what the customer needs and you can build stores and concepts based on customer insights, targeted customer segments and customer feedback.

Although you will be placed in Helsinki, this role includes also traveling to other department stores.
