Elf Guide, Lapland Safaris

Lapland Staff is looking for Elf Guides for the Christmas season 2025, to various locations of Lapland Safaris. We are looking for Elf Guides to work in Ylläs, Rovaniemi, Saariselkä, Levi, Hetta and Pallas.

The Elf Guides’ job is the most fun of them all! Depending on the destination the Elf Guide is simultaneously a guide, entertainer, and a magical creature of the Christmas wonderland for our guests. The Elf Guide’s work is independent, although there may be many colleagues working in different roles at the same site.

In addition to being responsible, elves love to goof around and make sure that everyone is in a good mood. The elves tell our international guests' stories about Lapland and Lapland's nature and sing Christmas carols with the guests. Elves play with children, make snow angels, and are generally children's best friends!

An Elf Guide works a lot on the bus. In practice, one elf is responsible for one bus group of guests at a time. While the group is in Lapland, the Elf Guide ensures that the agreed schedule is followed, guides the guests, informs them about important matters, and makes sure that the guests’ holiday experience is amazing! The most important tools for the Elf Guide are the bus microphone, ability to engage with many people, creativity, as well as performance and improvisation skills.

The daily tasks of the Elf Guide include:

  • Picking up and dropping off guests to and from the airport by bus

  • Taking a group by bus to an activity area and advising guests to activities and supervise children, for example at the tobogganing hill once you get there

  • Engaging with guests and playing with children

  • Being physically active outdoors in the variable and sometimes cold Arctic conditions, sometimes indoors in clothing and equipment or other venues.

In all our destinations, the elves are energetic, outgoing and know how to communicate fluently in English. The job requires good presentation and group management skills. Work can be hectic at times and the days sometimes long, so flexibility and ability to handle pressure are vital. In some of our destinations versatile language skills, a driver’s license (class B), as well as experience of driving in arctic conditions are considered advantageous.

Previous experience in similar roles is not necessary but if you have previous experience in leading groups or, for example, leading children's clubs or background in entertainment, we consider it as a big advantage. The most important thing for us is that you are motivated and enthusiastic about being an elf and that you dare to throw yourself fully into your role. The elves' job descriptions and guest groups may vary in different destinations. The work is done in the costume of an elf.

Depending on the destination, elves might occasionally work as part of Lapland Safaris' Clothing Team.

We offer you:

• A great team and a wonderful work environment

• A surprising and varied job description

• An easy way to come to Lapland to work

• Numerous leisure opportunities

• Comprehensive staff benefits of Lapland Hotels & Lapland Safaris. You will receive benefits for example from equipment rental, restaurants and Lapland Ski Resorts lift tickets.

Before the start of the actual work, Lapland Safaris organizes training for the new staff. Knowledge, skills and safety are the main principles of the training.
