Postdoctoral Researcher in Accounting and Corporate Finance
Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics (JSBE) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Accounting and Corporate Finance starting from September 1, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter for four years. The fixed-term position is due to the independent research career stage (post-doc) related to the four-stage research career model.
Our Accounting and Corporate Finance research group investigates the changing practices in management accounting, external reporting, auditing, and corporate finance. The postdoctoral position is intended for those who have completed their doctoral degree within the last three years. The purpose of post-doctoral funding is to promote the start of an independent research career after the dissertation. During the funding period, the postdoctoral researcher is expected to apply for external funding for their research. The position includes teaching and thesis supervision in Finnish-language accounting and corporate finance bachelor's and master's programs.
Who we are looking for
The duties, qualification requirements, and language skills of a postdoctoral researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. The PhD degree required for the position must have been completed before the starting date. A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.
Applicants will be assessed based on on research evidence in managerial accounting, external reporting and auditing, and corporate finance. In addition, the feasibility and quality of the research plan and the planned funding application will be assessed. The applicant's experiential cooperation or multidisciplinary expertise in the Faculty's research areas is considered an advantage. Experience in obtaining competitive research funding, national or international cooperation networks and good cooperation skills are also considered advantages. Teaching tasks require ability to teach in Finnish and versatile teaching skills in financial and managerial accounting as well as relevant information systems.

The salary for a Postdoctoral Researcher is determined based on the task-specific demand level 5–6 of the university salary system for teaching and research staff. The salary range will be approximately 3500-4800 €/month (gross income), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
