Postdoctoral Researcher

Turku PET Centre is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher for a fixed term position, starting 1 February 2026, ending 31 March 2028.

Job description

Your responsibility is the following: to design and conduct measurements for standardizing O-15 H2O measurements for myocardial perfusion imaging in PET/CT using the Hidex radiowater generator as well as to conduct phantom studies using a perfusion phantom. Other responsibilities include data analysis and reporting, scientific publishing, participation in supervision and research group activities, as well as national and international collaboration.

Who we are looking for

The candidate should have a PhD degree. We are looking for a candidate with Medical Physics or Biomedical Engineering (or equivalent) background. Preferably, you already have some experience from imaging methods, especially PET imaging.

The position requires that you to design, conduct and analyze physical measurements on the PET/CT system and the radiowater generator. Preferably, you can provide some proven examples of your previous expertise on working (e.g publications) on working on these fields. Good programming skills are a plus.

The essential skills we require are good written and spoken English skills, and the ability to communicate clearly, capability for independent research work and scientific publishing, as well as group work skills.

Salary and trial period

Salary is determined in accordance with levels OV05-OV06, the Finnish Universities Salary System for Research and Teaching Personnel. The task-specific salary is 3 293,89 ­– 3 841,13 EUR per month. In addition to task-specific salary, personal performance based salary is paid.

A trial period of six (6) months is applied.
