POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER FOR FIXED-TERM 1.11.2024–31.12.2025

Turku School of Economics, department of Economics opens a position of Postdoctoral Researcher for fixed-term 1.11.2024-31.12.2025. The position is part-time (20%), starting on 1.11.2024 or based on mutual agreement. Initially, the contract will be offered for the end of 2025 with a possibility of an extension for an additional year.

The post of postdoctoral researcher is positioned at the Department of Economics. The Department of Economics conducts high-quality research in economics and belongs to the leading Finnish educators of economics at all degree levels. In the Turku School of Economics, the department is responsible for the research profile area Economic Policy and Markets.

Job description

The postdoctoral researcher works as part of the department’s regional and urban economics research group. The main tasks include scientific research, planning research projects, teaching basic courses, and supervising theses. Additionally, the postdoctoral researcher participates in preparing funding applications and collaborating with stakeholders, especially local municipalities.

The qualification requirements for the position of a Doctoral Researcher are stated in the Rules of Procedure of the University of Turku. Person selected for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher shall have an appropriate doctoral degree (Economics) completed by the end of application deadline.

We require proven track record of independent high-quality scientific research related to Urban economics.

Successful applicants have strong research orientation and fluency in English. Previous research experience related to supported housing is considered an advantage for the applicant.

Salary

The salary is determined in accordance with the university salary system for teaching and research personnel. For a doctoral researcher, the salary (100%) will be in the beginning of the employment around 3600-4300 euros/month. The amount of the salary is defined when the employment contract is prepared and is influenced by previous experience and skills.

The position has a trial period of six (6) months.
