Vice President, HR & AI Competence Lead (Helsinki, Tampere, Tallinn)
Role Summary
This is first and foremost a VP HR role with a broad and strategic mandate in Elisa’s Technology and Operations organization. As VP HR for Technology and Operations, you will act as a strategic HR leader and partner to the EVP, Tech&Ops and leadership team, shaping people strategy, organizational effectiveness, and talent development across a complex and business-critical area. This unit includes IT and Telco Services, Digital Services, Network Services, Service Assurance, and Technology & Strategy Development.
In addition to this core HR role, you will also act as AI Competence Lead. This is not a technical role, but a competence development and change management centric position. You will have end-to-end accountability for AI competence development, role evolution, and adoption across the organization. You help define how roles are changing, what skill levels are needed, and what change support leaders and units need to enable AI-driven role evolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to the EVP of Technology and Operations and their leadership team on all people-related matters.
- Lead and implement HR strategies that support business transformation, digital innovation, and operational excellence.
- Support the integration of Finland and Estonia Technology and Operations units including cultural integration and change management
- Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement and foster a positive employee experience across the unit.
- Collaborate closely with HR Centers of Excellence (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Leadership & Culture, Compensation & Benefits) to deliver scalable and impactful solutions.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies across geographies.
- As a member of the HR Leadership Team, actively contribute to the development of Elisa’s HR practices and the evolution of the HR function as a whole.
- Lead Elisa’s role-based AI competence development and role evolution agenda:
- owning the entire internal competence program and leading the cooperation of internal AI development roles
- facilitating role evolution: how roles are changing, what skill levels are needed, what support is required across the organization
- supporting leaders and units with change management approaches, guidance and tools.
The position reports to the EVP, People and Culture, and is a member of both the HR Leadership Team and the Technology and Operations Leadership Team.
The role can be based in either Finland (Helsinki or Tampere) or Estonia (Tallinn).
What we expect from you
- Solid HR leadership experience in a technology-intensive environment in an international context
- Extensive corporate-level HR leadership experience in a complex organization
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate business strategy into people strategy
- Proven track record of cultural and organizational change management
- Demonstrated success in leading through cross-country integrations and change
- Excellent communicator and fluency in English, Finnish and/or Estonian being a solid advantage
- A proactive mindset and a strong sense of ownership
- Creative and innovative thinker, able to challenge the status quo and bring fresh perspectives to HR practices
- Passionate about employee engagement and wellbeing, with a track record of delivering impactful initiatives in these areas
- Excellent stakeholder management and coaching skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- You thrive in a constantly evolving environment and are comfortable continuously shaping and redefining your role as needed
- Based in or readiness to work from Finland (Helsinki or Tampere) or Estonia (Tallinn)
