Do you want to be our next Market Analyst Trainee in our Market and Patent Analysis team, which is part of the Business Intelligence (BI) team? 

As a Market Analyst your key goals are to provide tailor-made market analysis reports and to support our internal stakeholders in strategic decision making. In this position, you will have an essential role in communicating the Business Intelligence teams services to our internal stakeholders and helping them to make strategic decisions based on your analysis. You will learn about megatrends, trends, weak signals, macroeconomics, market conditions and data gathering process, data-analysis and market analysis.

Our team, Business Intelligence is part of the Strategy team and we help VTT to gain insights into their processes and their decision-making process with market analysis. We coordinate the external information flow and analysis, such as trends, industry news and market data.

What your responsibilities as a Market Analyst Trainee would include:

• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and scope specific the market analysis
• Collecting and analysing market data from different information sources, utilising artificial intelligence (AI) tools to optimise data collection, analysis and reporting
• Presenting analysis results clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders
• Providing insights into changes in key business environment drivers and long-term trends
• Participating in team meetings and depending on your interests, responsibilities may also include some team level coordination of tasks.

Who we are looking for?

• Relevant master’s level studies (e.g. futures studies, business, economics, marketing, engineering)
• Some work experience related to data, analytics or market research (for example, internships or summer jobs)
• Good PowerPoint and Excel skills and experience with processing large amounts of data and combining different databases
• Fluent spoken and written English, Finnish is an advantage

All VTT Summer of Changemakers traineeships are paid, and the salary is determined based on study credits: for Master's students the monthly salary is between 2600€ and 2800€, and for Bachelor's students the monthly salary is between 2100€ and 2400€. The typical duration of traineeships is between 3 and 6 months, with start dates usually falling between March and June, however the length and the exact starting date can be discussed with the hiring team.
