As a Research Trainee, your key goals are to assist with research conducted in different projects related to nuclear power plant materials and material environment interactions. In this position, you will have an essential role in performing material characterization, electrochemical measurements, summarizing the measurement results and assisting in preparing experimental setups.  

Our team, Advanced Materials for Nuclear Energy works on nuclear power plant materials and how they interact with the environment. The work improves the safe use of current-generation nuclear power plants and enables the development of material solutions for future concepts used in the nuclear industry, thus enabling more sustainable energy production solutions.

What your responsibilities as a Research Trainee would include?

  • Preparing experimental setups
  • Material characterization (e.g. microscopy, hardness etc.)
  • Performing electrochemical measurements
  • Searching relevant literature
  • Summarizing the measurement results

Who we are looking for?

  • An enthusiastic and motivated person who is able to perform practical tasks in research projects
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • A 3rd or 4th year student with relevant studies in the field of material sciences, mechanical engineering, chemistry or physics
