As a summer trainee, your key goals are to develop your research skills and improve your international scientific communication. In this position, you will have an essential role in helping to print, assemble and characterize flexible electronic components, and assist in applied lab research activities. 

Our team, Printed Materials Systems works on novel materials enabling their use in printed electronics and upscaling the manufacturing of electronic systems with traditional printing techniques. Our focus areas include for example printed organic and perovskite solar cells, PDMS roll-to-roll processing, battery manufacturing, and utilizing sustainable materials in printed electronics.

What your responsibilities as a summer trainee would include?

  • Assist with the printing of functional inks
  • Electrical and optical characterization of printed electronic devices
  • Performing an in-depth literature survey on a relevant topic.

Who we are looking for?

  • You have completed at least two years of studies in Chemistry/Physics/Material Science or related topics as a major
  • You have advanced skills in English
  • You have basic knowledge about common electronic devices or components is beneficial.

As a person, we hope that you are a curious mind, who is eager to get familiar and set your fingerprints in the interesting and multidisciplinary world of printed electronics. We appreciate an initiative approach but also willingness to listen and learn over doing. You will be a part of a research team so good collaboration skills are necessary.
