Do you want to be our next Security Trainee in our Security Team? Join us - and let’s make science work for hope next summer!

As a Security Trainee, your key goals are to support the security team with both daily tasks and development projects. In this position, you will have an essential role in ensuring that corporate security processes such as physical access control and security clearance support VTT’s daily operations.

Our team, Security and cyber security specialists work on both physical - and cyber security issues. Based on adequate risk management, we aim to secure VTT operations and confidential data. This way VTT may fulfil its purpose as well as strategic and operational goals. The security team makes its best to ensure that VTT is a reliable partner to all stakeholders.

What your responsibilities as a Security Trainee would include?

  • Physical access rights updates: user activation and changes in access rights.
  • Security clearance application processing (no previous experience required).
  • Development project(s) on e.g. security awareness (to be agreed during traineeship).
  • Participation in VTT security management routines: team meetings and operation planning events. Cooperation with VTT security partners.

Who we are looking for?

  • A student on a relevant degree programme, (e.g. Laurea Security Management).
  • You have experience in security guarding and/or security system user roles.
  • We consider other security-related work experience as an advantage.
  • You can communicate in English (both spoken and written).

As a person, we hope that you are:

  • Someone with a positive mindset.
  • Able to manage your work by deciding e.g. task prioritization.
  • Reliable on assigned tasks.
  • Courageous in bringing out your ideas and views on security topics.

We appreciate ambition and willingness to learn over having all the answers or skills ready when you start.

What would we offer you?

  • Impactful work for the future. As a leading applied research organisation, we are on a mission to bring exponential hope to the world by joining together people, businesses, science and technology. We tackle the biggest challenges of our time – from climate change and resource sufficiency to industrial renewal and smart healthcare – and turn them into sustainable growth. Read more about our strategy – the path of exponential hope.
