Young Singers’ Programme
Finnish National Opera is seeking singers for a fixed-term monthly paid position for the 2025–2026 season based on auditions for the Young Singers Programme launched with the Louise and Göran Ehrnrooth Foundation in autumn 2022. Singers who participated in the program in previous years performed several roles on the main stage of the Finnish National Opera and appeared in other events. In addition, they received coaching, language training, mentoring and participated in master classes.
Applicants are expected to have a conservatory or university degree in vocal arts and/or several years of professional-level vocal studies and performance experience. In addition, the applicant must be of legal age and born in 1989 or later.

We kindly ask you to submit your application, CV, motivation letter and a link to video , no later than 30.9.2024 in the electronic recruitment system on the website of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet (www.oopperabaletti.fi). In the video, you must perform an optional opera aria with piano accompaniment. The video must be shot with one camera in front of the singer so that the singer is fully visible in the image at all times. Post-processing of sound and image is prohibited.
After the video selection, we will invite some of the applicants to live audition, which will be held at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet in between October and November.

We offer opera and ballet performances and other events to people of all ages. Thanks to visiting performances, school operas, recordings and live broadcasts as well as television and radio broadcasts, the experiences we create can be enjoyed everywhere in Finland and around the world.
In terms of personnel, we are a mid-sized opera and ballet company. We have approximately 550 people on our monthly payroll from 32 countries. This includes 53 opera singers in soloist and choral roles, 74 dancers (additional 14 dancers in the Youth Company), and 111 orchestra musicians. Besides this, a considerable number of Finnish and foreign guest performers contributes to our performances. What’s more, the Opera House is home to a wide variety of highly skilled artisan professionals from cobblers to metal workers.
