Intern for fixed-term 1.1.-30.6.2025 in the Department of Economics
We are looking for an intern for a fixed term between January 1st to June 30th 2025 in Turku School of Economics, Department of Economics. Internship is part-time (50%).
The position is in professor Janne Tukiainen’s ERC consolidator grant funded INTRAPOL project (https://sites.utu.fi/intrapol/). The key work task involves digitizing poll books from 19th century England. The position is directed to students in economics or computer science. Studies and knowledge of economics, econometrics or statistics, computer science, data-analysis and history are an advantage. Good programming skills, in particular OCR, automated text analysis or generative AI are an will be useful in order to automate parts of the digitization process. The chosen intern is expected to have good fluency in English.
We prioritize students in the Master’s Degree Programme in either Economics or Computer Science in the University of Turku.
The intern will be paid a salary of 700 € per month and will be positioned in the department of Economics at the Turku School of Economics. Work hours are flexible and remote working is allowed.
