Lapland Staff is looking for two Melody Elves and two Principal Elves for the Christmas season 2025, to Lapland Safaris Rovaniemi.  

The Elf Guides’ job is the funniest job of them all! Depending on the destination the Elf Guide is simultaneously a guide, entertainer, and a magical creature of the Christmas wonderland for our guests. The Elf Guide’s work is independent, although there may be many colleagues working in different roles on the same site.  

In addition to being responsible, elves also act a bit silly sometimes! The elves make sure everyone is in a good mood. The elves tell our international guests stories about Lapland and Lapland's nature and sing Christmas carols with the guests. Elves play with children, make snow angels, and are generally children's best friends! The most important tools for the Elf Guide are the bus microphone, ability to engage with many people, creativity, as well as performance and improvisation skills. 

Melody Elf 

Melody Elf is the most musical Elf of them all and loves to throw themselves into the role! In fact, building the role, as well as creating their own program number is a big part of the Melody Elf’s job description when starting the job. Melody Elf sings and plays the guitar around the campfire, and with their jolly spirit inspires the guests to sing as well, while spreading the joy of Christmas through Christmas carols. With their cheery and dashing performance, Melody lifts the Christmas spirits of all those around, even the Grinch’s. Melody Elf is stationed mainly in a certain workplace, but in addition works as a bus elf guide as well.  

Principal Elf  

The Principal Elf of the Elf School excels as the keeper of the elf school for the children. The Principal Elf guides the children with an encouraging and positive approach, while teaching them the versatile secrets of elves and Christmas. The Principal Elf needs solid presentation skills, initiative, as well as jolly Elf spirit. In addition, creativity and enthusiasm are expected of the Principal Elf, since an important part of the job description is that the Principal Elf plans and implements their own role, program number and the elf school itself.  

Elves are energetic, outgoing and know how to communicate fluently in English. The job requires good presentation and group management skills. Work can be hectic at times and the days sometimes long, so flexibility and the ability to handle pressure are vital. A driver’s license and experience with driving on snow are seen as an advantage.  

Previous experience in similar roles is not necessary but if you have previous experience in leading groups or, for example, leading children's clubs or background in entertainment, we consider it as a big advantage. The most important thing for us is that you are motivated and enthusiastic about being an elf and that you dare to throw yourself fully into your role. The work is done in the costume of an elf. 

Elves may occasionally work as part of Lapland Safaris' Clothing Team.

Before the start of the actual work, Lapland Safaris organizes training for the new staff. Knowledge, skills and safety are the main principles of the training. The language of education is English, and the education is free of charge. Employees will also be briefed on each task at the beginning of employment.  

The employment relationship is a fixed term seasonal contract by the Collective Agreement in the Adventure Services sector. Work will begin at the end of November 2025 and will last approximately until the end of December 2025 or beginning of January. Salary according to the Collective Agreement of Adventure Services grade A, hourly wage starting from 10 € (gross). Work will be done also during weekends and public holidays. Sundays and Finnish bank holidays are paid double. Accommodation is organized in shared rooms, with a reasonable rent in comparison to the local price level.
