Are you at the beginning of your career in logistics and looking for an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an international environment? We are now looking for a motivated and proactive Operations Assistant to join DSV’s Cross Trade, Air & Sea operations in Vantaa, Finland.

We are looking for someone who is curious, eager to learn and ready to take responsibility. You don’t need to know everything from day one. What matters most is your attitude, willingness to learn and genuine interest in international logistics. You will initially be employed through Eilakaisla on a three-month fixed-term contract, with a possibility to continue after the initial period.

As an Operations Assistant, you will support and coordinate international cargo flows while working closely with customers, overseas agents, carriers and other partners. You will act as a point of contact for customers and take care of transport bookings with shipping lines, domestic carriers and other subcontractors. Your role will also include managing cargo routing for designated customers or trade lanes, monitoring shipments and ensuring that agreed processes and quality standards are followed.

In addition, you will handle invoicing, shipment pricing and expense recording, verify charges from agents and subcontractors, and manage customs formalities when needed. You will also assist with claims and shipment-related issues, as well as pricing for international agents and domestic customers. Billing and Cross Trade activities will form an important part of the role, especially in the beginning.

As you gain experience and confidence, you will gradually take responsibility for a larger number of orders and international shipments. The role offers a great opportunity to learn how global logistics and different cargo flows work in practice.

• An educational background in logistics
• A proactive, organized and solution-oriented approach to work
• The ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing situations
• Strong customer service, communication and collaboration skills
• Fluent English skills, as you will work mainly with international stakeholders
• Previous experience with ERP systems, Excel or Outlook are considered an advantage
• An interest in international logistics, global commerce and different modes of transport

This is a great opportunity to develop your expertise in international logistics and freight forwarding and gain practical experience in Cross Trade operations within a global organization. You will work as part of a small and supportive team where colleagues share knowledge, help each other and work together to manage the daily workload.

You will receive comprehensive onboarding and training to help you get started. The position follows regular office hours, Monday to Friday, approximately 8:00–16:00. During the onboarding period, you will work primarily at the Vantaa office, there is also the possibility to work according to the team’s hybrid working model.

At DSV, you will be part of an international and fast-paced working environment where you can develop your professional skills, take ownership and gain valuable exposure to global logistics. You will be employed by Eilakaisla, so you will have the support of both the Eilakaisla and DSV teams throughout your assignment.

The monthly salary for the position is approximately EUR 2,100–2,300, depending on your previous experience and background.
