University Teacher of English (CeLCS)
University Teacher of English is required by the University of Turku, Centre for Language and Communication Studies (Turku School of Economics, Pori Unit) on a permanent basis commencing 1 August 2026.
Job description
The duties of a university teacher of English include
- English language teaching for the students of Turku School of Economics, Pori Unit, possibly also for the students of the Faculty of Education at the Rauma campus
- planning and developing teaching in collaboration with teaching teams and faculties
- participating in the development of the Centre
- administrative tasks related to own teaching

In accordance to the eligibility criteria for University Teacher, the applicant should have
- an applicable higher university degree
- good teaching skills
Successful performance in the post of University Teacher requires
- good interaction and cooperation skills
- ability to teach in a multi-modal/digital environment
When assessing the merits of the applicants we will take into account the following:
- extensive competence in the field in question
- experience in higher education teaching, especially in language centers
- pedagogical training
- the ability to produce study materials
- teaching demonstration
Interest in subject-related research and knowledge of economics and commerce is desirable.

Salary and trial period
The salary is defined by the university salary system for teachers/researchers, demand level 4–6 (2907–3925 euros). In addition, there is a work performance level, which is determined on the job and can be min. 6% of the demand level salary. The salary will in the beginning of the employment be approximately 3900 €/month.
The position has a trial period of six (6) months.
